While the attendance (a little over 20,000) may have fallen short of a true Opening Day, players seemed happy to be home as were fans to attend this game. My seat was in Sec 20 Row 12 – just to the right of the O’s dugout. Manny’s lead-off homerun– followed by a 2-run homeroom by Chris Davis was a great 1st inning to start the night. Ubaldo pitched a great great game completing 7 innings – defense played well – and Delmon’s catch in right field was unbelievable! Players were throwing balls near me into seats after each inning. Fans were thrilled! It was a great night for baseball. I didn’t notice until much later that players wore BALTIMORE across their chests on their white home jerseys. Pride and loyalty seemed to be a message from players to fans and fans to players. Signage consisted of Baltimore flag, posters for Charm City and BELIEVE in Baltimore among a few. Be sure to check out a few photos from the night and videos from fan who created the event on social media and Buck postgame comments. Hope you enjoyed this night as much as I did! Go O’s!!!

DUNDALK, Md. – Purple Friday for the Ravens has taken off in the Baltimore area.  But are you ready for Orange Wednesdays?  One local woman thinks you should be.

Nancy Cook from Dundalk wants to start a tradition where people wear orange on Wednesdays.  She says she picked “hump day” to try and help the O’s get “over the hump.”

“I think maybe it’s better to support the person that is the underdog,” she says.  “The person that needs a lift up and I’d like to see our town turn into a supportive group and be wearing a sea of orange because I think it would give confidence to our young players.  I think it would make our older players happy.”

Cook pitched her idea to the Orioles, but got a thumbs down from the team.  So she turned to social media and hopes to gain momentum for Orange Wednesday that way.
